Ice Baroque sculptures

Vilnius is the capital of European culture in 2009. The festival called "Ice Baroque" was held in February, 2009.

The seven ice replicas of famous Baroque buildings in Vilnius were displayed in the Old Town of Vilnius.

Lithuanian Easter Eggs

One week ago I visited very interesting exhibition of Easter eggs by Marija Banikoviene in Vilnius. She is 80 years old. I was deeply impressed by her wonderful works. Lithuanians call a naturally dyed and colored egg markutis. It symbolizes the rebirth of nature, the creation of life, the birth of plants and rejuvenation. Please enjoy beautiful eggs colored by the Lithuanian artist Marija Banikovienė.
