Kaziuko Muge, Casimir's Fair in Vilnius

Kaziuko Muge, Casimir's Fair is a big annual Lithuanian folk crafts festival and it is dating from the beginning of the 17th century. It is traditionally held on the Sunday nearest to St. Casimir’s Day, March 4 (the day St. Casimir died).

I am happy to enjoy this nice fair with many palm branches and wooden goods in 2008.

Lithuanian Easter Eggs

One week ago I visited very interesting exhibition of Easter eggs by Marija Banikoviene in Vilnius. She is 80 years old. I was deeply impressed by her wonderful works. Lithuanians call a naturally dyed and colored egg markutis. It symbolizes the rebirth of nature, the creation of life, the birth of plants and rejuvenation. Please enjoy beautiful eggs colored by the Lithuanian artist Marija Banikovienė.
